Where It All Began
Brothers of Bhundoo was born from a simple belief. That the world could be a better place, and that change begins with us.
In 2022, Michael Keats and I ventured deep into the bush at Bhundoo for a four day, four night vision quest. Alone on the land, without food, shelter or fire. Just ourselves, the elements and the stillness that comes when the noise of everyday life falls away.
For years, Michael, Jamie and I had shared conversations about life, connection and the world we were living in. We could see how disconnected so many men had become, from themselves, from one another and from the natural world. Somewhere along the way, we had lost touch with something deeply human.
The idea of bringing men together had been quietly taking shape for some time.
And out there, in the solitude of the bush, that vision found its roots.
A brotherhood where men could lay down their armour, speak their truth, listen without judgement and rediscover the strength that comes from genuine connection.
And so Brothers of Bhundoo was born.
What began as a shared vision has grown into a living, breathing brotherhood. A place where men come together to support one another, face life's challenges, celebrate its beauty and walk towards a greater sense of connection, vision and purpose.
The Brotherhood
There's something powerful about men gathering around a fire.
No titles, no masks, no need to impress or prove anything. Just men showing up as they are.
Some arrive carrying the weight of life's challenges. Others come seeking genuine friendships, meaningful conversations or simply a place to belong.
You don't have to be struggling to join us, and you certainly don't need to have all the answers.
Through our monthly gatherings, camps and time on the land, we step away from the noise of everyday life and create space for something deeper. A chance to reconnect, challenge ourselves and explore what it means to live with authenticity, courage and purpose.
We share stories, listen deeply, laugh, learn from one another and sometimes simply sit together in silence. There's wisdom in all of it.
We're not here to fix men. We're here to walk alongside one another, recognise the strength within ourselves and take responsibility for the lives we choose to live.

Michael's Legacy
Michael was more than a cofounder of Brothers of Bhundoo. He was a brother, a dear friend and a man who believed deeply in the possibility of a more beautiful world.
We spent countless hours together talking, dreaming and exploring what that world could look like. A world where people were deeply connected to themselves, to one another and to the natural world. Where we lived with a greater sense of wonder, inspired by the beauty and mystery of life, and in awe of this extraordinary existence we find ourselves in.
Michael believed that such a world was possible.
And he didn't just talk about it. He lived it.
In the way he loved, connected, questioned, shared his wisdom and brought people together, Michael showed us what it meant to live with an open heart and a vision for something greater than ourselves.
His passing in 2026 left a space that can never truly be filled.
But the seeds he helped plant continue to grow.
His passing has lit a fire in the bellies of those who knew and loved him. A fire to carry on the vision, to turn grief into purpose and to honour the great man by continuing to build the world he believed was possible.
That fire lives in the friendships forged, the stories shared, the courage to stand beside one another and the brotherhood that continues to grow.
Michael understood that a better world wasn't something we had to wait for. It was something we could create together, through the way we choose to live and how we show up for one another.
And so we carry the fire forward.

Brothers of Bhundoo has always been about something greater than the gatherings themselves.
Our vision is to see men connected to each other, connected to nature and living with vision and purpose. Men whose growth and strength ripple outward into their families, relationships and communities.
But building a more beautiful world takes all of us.
While our men's gatherings remain at the heart of what we do, women, families, friends, businesses and the wider community all have an important part to play.
We each carry our own strengths, experiences, skills and gifts. By bringing them together, we can create something far greater than any one of us could achieve alone.
We don't have all the answers. We're learning, growing and finding our way together.
And everyone's invited to be part of the journey.
